Even though HTC sold off a portion of its phone-making business to Google, the Taiwanese company is still making new smartphones.

HTC U11 Plus invite

Coming off the success of the U11, HTC has sent out an invite to another U-themed event. The event is set for November 2nd in Taipei, Taiwan. That date is different from the November 11th one David Chef, the company’s COO, announced in September. It’s currently unclear if the November 11th event in China is still going to happen.

Most rumours point to HTC unveiling the U11 Plus at the event. The U11 Plus is to be the company’s flagship bezel-less offering.

According to past leaks, the U11 Plus is said to feature a 6-inch LCD display with 2880 x 1440 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Rumours also point to the U11 Plus including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Additionally, the device is rumoured to include a 12-megapixel rear facing camera, and a higher resolution 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

It’s unclear whether the smartphone will come with Android 8.0 Oreo. Lastly, the U11 Plus will ship in two colours — amazing silver and brilliant black.
