Netflix has announced that Canada has the highest percentage of ‘Binge Racers’ in the world.
The act of ‘Binge Racing’ is to watch every episode of an entire season within 24 hours of its release. According to Netflix, 11 percent of Canadians on the platform have Binge Raced.
The most binged shows in the country are Trailer Park Boys 2, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Fuller House, The Ranch and Marvel’s The Defenders.
Surprisingly enough, despite having population numbers on its side, Ontario does not have the most Binge Racers in the country, with Newfoundland at number one, New Brunswick at number two, Nova Scotia at number three, Ontario at number four and Manitoba at number five.
According to Netflix, Binge Racing has increased globally by over 20 times from 2013 to 2016.
“There’s a unique satisfaction that comes from being the first to finish a story — whether it’s the final page of a book or the last, climactic moments of your favorite TV show.” said Brian Wright, vice president of original series, in a press statement.
“Netflix allows you to watch in a way you never could before, and there’s nothing better than seeing a show engage our members and ignite a passion for viewing.”
The next binge-worthy show coming to the platform is Stranger Things 2, launching on October 27th.
