Google is warning customers not to cut the cord between its new wireless Pixel Bud headphones, among a number of other cautions.

The tech giant advising people not to make such a mistake is an interesting move on Google’s part. Given the company has gone so far as to release a full statement surrounding the issue, it’s likely there are some people out there who believe cutting the wire between ear buds will make the headphones completely wireless.

Below is Google’s warning:

If you do happen to cut the Pixel Buds cord, this voids the headphone’s warranty.

Pixel Buds are Google’s new wireless ear buds that function similarly to Apple’s Airpods. The Pixel Buds utilize Google Assistant and comes equipped with Google Translate, allowing different languages to be translated in real-time.

Google’s Pixel Buds will be available later this year in Canada in blue, white and black for $219 CAD in the Google Store/Best Buy Canada, and are available for pre-order now.
