Huawei executive says the company has sold more than 100 million units this year

Within the first three quarters of 2017, Huawei has already sold more than 100 million smartphones — a 19 percent increase year-over-year in terms of shipments for the Chinese company.

Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei’s consumer business group, announced the news on Saturday, October 21st, emphasizing that the company’s operating revenue has increased more than 30 percent from January to September.

Additionally, worldwide the number of Huawei retail outlets has also increased by 19 percent year-over-year to 42,300.

These numbers are all before the release of the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, two flagship devices that Huawei recently revealed. Both devices are expected to boost the company’s sales when released.

Huawei is also working on a foldable smartphone, according to PocketNow. There’s already a working prototype in internal testing, though there are still issues that need to be worked out.

According to the report, Huawei is attempting to get rid of the small gap between the two displays. With that concern in mind, it’s likely the foldable Huawei phone will look similar to the Axon M unveiled last week.
