Tesla will unveil its electric semi-truck on November 16th [Update]

After much fanfare, Tesla has formally announced it’s expanding its product portfolio

American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is formally unveiling its electric semi-truck on November 16th, 2017.

The company made the announcement in a series of formal invites to media organizations, including TechCrunch.

Rumours about Tesla’s upcoming semi-truck have been circulating for almost a full year, and Elon Musk even tweeted in April 2017 that the product would be unveiled in September 2017.

September, however, came and went, without an electric semi-truck.

TechCrunch reported that the semi-truck delay was a result of Tesla’s efforts re-establishing energy generation in Puerto Rico, following the descent of Hurricane Maria.

Update 13/11/2017: Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has issued a tweet announcing that Tesla’s semi-truck will be formally announced on November 16th, 2017 at 8 p.m.

It looks like November 16th is set to be a busy day in tech; smartphone upstart OnePlus will unveil its new smartphone that day as well.
