Pixel 2 and 2 XL experience issues when connecting to Bluetooth and using Google Assistant

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have experienced many problems since the phones’ initial release, including burn-in issues, microphone crackling and connectivity concerns. Now, Google can add one more item to that growing list.

Both the Pixel 2 and 2 XL are experiencing issues when connecting to Bluetooth headphones and activating Google Assistant. When connected and using Google Assistant, the smartphones makes a sound that indicates it’s listening, but the phone doesn’t actually detect the user’s voice.

According to the Pixel User Community thread, the problem occurs when using several brands of headphones, including headphones that feature a dedicated Google Assistant button.

Google is aware of the issue and is investigating, however, no fix has been announced yet.

It’s likely this issue will also cause problems with Google’s upcoming Pixel Buds.
