Microsoft’s latest Xbox One console, the powerful Xbox One X, has been out in Canada since November 7th.
In that time, Xbox One X owners, in Canada and around the world, have had time to put the new console through its paces, only to find out that it doesn’t make for a great UHD Blu-ray. The issue, first highlighted by Forbes, is that dark tones look gray and washed out thanks to the fact that the Xbox One X raises black levels when playing back high dynamic range (HDR) videos.
In a tweet sent out earlier this week, Mike Ybarra, corporate vice president of Xbox and Windows Gaming at Microsoft, announced that Microsoft is working on a fix for the issue. He further added that Xbox One X owners can expect a patch in the next few days.
