LG G7 pops up at MWC 2018 [Update]

This might be the LG 'Judy'

LG reportedly showed off its upcoming smartphone behind closed doors at Mobile World Congress 2018.

An IsraeliĀ journalist from the publication Ynet got the chance to take a peek at the unannounced smartphone.

Originally, reliable leakerĀ Evan Blass believed that the phone was the now-scrapped G7,Ā codenamed Neo. However, it now seems that this Neo and the LG Judy, he leaked on February 16th, are one and the same. Moreover, it’s possible that the company will continue to use the G7 nomenclature.

The G7 uses a 6-inch OLED display with a 900 pixels-per-inch (ppi) screen density. The screen also features a 3120 x 1440 pixel resolution as well as a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The handset also showcases an iPhone X-inspired notch and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens. Moreover, it sports a dual rear-camera setup with two 16-megapixel sensors. One of the cameras features a f/1.6 aperture lens, while the other features a f/1.9 wide-angleĀ lens. In addition, the phone had a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

The LG G7 also features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Another model sports 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. In addition, a 3,000mAh battery powers the handset.

The only differences between this G7 Neo and Blass’ previous LG Judy leak are the display screen and the MLCD versus OLED display technologies. According to Blass, internally LG employees allegedly are complaining that the handset is copying the iPhone X.

It also appears the same venue that featured the upcoming LG G7 also had early models of the LG V35, LG Q7 and a new LG watch.
