OnePlus teases first official look at OnePlus 6

In what has seemingly become an annual tradition for OnePlus, the company is teasing its next smartphone, set to be called the OnePlus 6, by showing an image that features the new device sitting under its current flagship.

OnePlus first called on this trick last summer in the lead up to the launch of the OnePlus 5. This time around, however, we actually get a good look at the side of phone. Notably, the teaser reveals OnePlus has either moved its iconic alert slider to the right side of the OnePlus 6 or completely eliminated the feature. Alternatively, the company may have redesigned the slider to function more like a volume rocker.

“More immersion in a refined form factor,” writes the company’s official Twitter account, alluding to the device’s confirmed camera notch.

Like the lead up the OnePlus 5 last year, the OnePlus 6 has been heavily leaked ahead of its launch later this year. Separately, OnePlus co-founders Pete Lau and Carl Pei revealed the phone will feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, as well as the aforementioned camera notch.
