Bell is set to increase its one-time customer connection fee to $30 CAD from $25, according to internal Bell documents received by MobileSyrup,

The document indicates that the increase is valid for “mobile internet,” including Turbo Sticks and Hubs, “connected cars,” “connected cameras,” and tablets. However, the rise excludes smartwatch plans and prepaid wireless plans. The price increase is valid for all new consumer postpaid, small business and personal plans.

In comparison, Telus and its flanker brand Koodo introduced a $30 connection fee in mid-April following eliminating the $20 sim card fee.

Back in June of 2017, Bell increased the one-time activation charge to $25 across the board, up from the $15 the carrier charged prior. Rogers increased its connection fee from $20 to $25 back in August of 2017.

This change is effective April 19th, 2018.
