What’s your favourite smartphone ever?

iPhone X

Here’s the definition of a smartphone, according to Oxford Living Dictionary:

“A mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, Internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded apps.”

According to Wikipedia, the first ever smartphone was the Simon Personal Communicator in 1994. The device was capable of receiving/sending faxes and e-mails, including an address book, calendar, world time clock, maps, stock reports and the news.

The phone wasn’t actually described as a smartphone though as the term wasn’t coined until a year later.

Wikipedia also points to the Ericsson R380 being marketed as the very first smartphone. The phone included limited web browsing on a resistive touchscreen using a stylus. Ericsson Mobile Communications launched the device back in the year 2000.

Over the last 18 years, smartphones have changed a lot and there are now a variety of handsets available around the world from countless manufacturers.

I’ve been fond of a number of smartphones over the years, especially the Huawei P20 Pro that I’m using now. Patrick O’Rourke, MobileSyrup’s managing editor, on the other hand, says the iPhone X remains his top smartphone pick.

My favourite smartphone ever released is the HTC One (M7). I loved Beats Audio and the phone also featured a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution 4.7-inch display with HTC Sense UI 5.0 (which was great).

But that’s enough about me. We’re curious what your favourite smartphone ever released? Are you like me and a fan of the HTC One M7, I’m also aware that the Nexus 5 was also a highly sought-after device, too.

Or are you like Patrick and love the iPhone X?
