Ubisoft Toronto has announced that for the first time, it will be taking part in Doors Open Toronto, an annual event that aims to give Torontonians an inside look at some of the significant buildings across the city.

This year’s event, which marks the 19th Doors Open Toronto, will focus on Toronto’s film and television industry, offering visits to more than 130 notable places, including historic theatres, film and TV studios and digital media studios.

Now, members of the public can register for free 30 minute tours of Ubisoft’s Toronto offices, which will take place on May 27th and 28th. As part of the tour, visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at Ubisoft Toronto’s Performance Capture studio — a first-time offering to anyone from the public.

There, visitors will get to learn more about how technology is used to capture actors, set props and even animals, which are then used in video games, film and television.

Ubisoft Toronto is best known for 2013’s critically-acclaimed Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the most recent entry in the long-running stealth-action franchise. Later this year, the studio is also set to release Starlink: Battle for Atlas, a toys-to-life game based on an original intellectual property.

Additionally, Ubisoft Toronto assists with the development of other Ubisoft productions, including Ubisoft Montreal’s For Honor and Far Cry 5.

Those interested in getting a tour of Ubisoft Toronto can register for free on Eventbrite.
