Freedom Mobile hits back at Koodo, Fido and Virgin with bonus 3GB promo [Update]

Aptly-named 'FOMO Promo' offers 3GB on select plan activations

Freedom Mobile

Following the launch of a 3GB bonus data barrage by Fido, Virgin Mobile and Koodo, Shaw-owned competitor Freedom Mobile has joined in with its own promo.

The regional carrier is now offering 3GB of bonus data for 24 months through an aptly-named ‘FOMO Promo’ sale. The in-store only deal is open to new postpaid and prepaid activations on select plans until May 15th, 2018.

The eligible plans are Home 40, Big Gig 50/70/90 or Big Gig + Everywhere Canada 50/60/75/100.

With the offer, a $50 5GB plan with unlimited talk to Canada and the U.S. becomes an 8GB plan. The offer is available across Freedom’s footprint in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

Telus-owned Koodo, Rogers-owned Fido and Bell-owned Virgin’s offers are available across their respective nation-spanning footprints, apart from Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan (though the two latter provinces have different offers).

None of the three flanker brands mentioned above specified an end-date for the 3GB promotions.

Update 5/11/2018: The promotion has been extended to May 15th. This article has been updated accordingly.
