The lens transforms users’ faces into a giant taco -- complete with a packet of hot sauce

Snapchat partners with Shopify

U.S.-based social networking platform Snapchat has partnered with U.S.-based Mexican fast food chain Taco Bell to release a special lens in Canada for Cinco de Mayo — the Mexican holiday meant to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Snapchat users interested in adding the new lens to their libraries can do so by scanning the code below.

The lens transforms users’ faces into a giant taco and even features a packet of sauce to top it all off.

While Cinco de Mayo has come to be known as a celebration of Mexican heritage in the U.S. and Canada, the day is typically commemorated through ceremonial military parades in Mexico.

Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo also doesn’t mark Mexico’s independence day, as the country celebrates its independence from Spain on September 16th.
