Google Smart Displays coming in July with YouTube TV

Lenovo Smart Display

Google confirmed today at I/O 2018 that its Assistant-powered smart displays will be launching in July.

The displays, which are manufactured by companies like Lenovo, JBL, LG and Sony, were announced at CES in January, but this marks the first confirmation of when they’re set to release.

Alongside the date announcement, Google revealed new features for the displays. To start, each display will come pre-loaded with YouTube TV to watch shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and local news.

As well, the smart displays will help in the kitchen. In an on-stage demo, Google showed off the display being told to load up recipes through Assistant, with images, videos and steps displayed on-screen to aid users in their cooking.
