Instagram starts testing ‘You’re All Caught Up’ notification feature

Instagram app on Android

Instagram is testing a new “You’re All Caught Up” feature that notifies users when they’ve seen every new post from the past 48 hours.

The feature was first spotted by TechCrunch. An Instagram spokesperson later confirmed to the publication that “You’re All Caught Up” is currently in testing with a small subsection of users.

What’s unclear is if the feature pulls every single photo posted in the last 48 hours or just ones highlighted by Instagram’s algorithm.

The feature is part of the company’s recent Usage Insights initiative.

“We’re building tools that will help the IG community know more about the time they spend on Instagram — any time should be positive and intentional. Understanding how time online impacts people is important, and it’s the responsibility of all companies to be honest about this. We want to be part of the solution. I take that responsibility seriously,” Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom wrote of the initiative on Twitter last week.
