Twitter adds night mode, updated tweet compose box to mobile site and Windows versions

Twitter app on iPhone X

Twitter has begun rolling out a suite of new features to the mobile version of Twitter, Twitter Lite, and Twitter for Windows.

To start, Twitter users on these platforms will be able to take advantage of a ‘night mode’ to make reading in the dark easier on the eyes, as tweets appear in white on a deep blue background. Android and iOS Twitter users have had this feature since the summer of 2016.

As well, users will be able to get real-time updates without needed to hit Twitter’s refresh button, allowing the feed to flow continuously.

Finally, Twitter has updated the tweet compose box on these platforms to let users more easily move between tweets and their timelines.

In related news, Twitter also announced earlier this week that it will be shutting down its Roku, Xbox and Android TV apps on May 24th.
