Telus has revealed a new partnership with the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada for a smartphone program that aims to support Ontario youth transitioning out of foster care.

According to Telus, “the program will enable young people to maintain a connection to their support networks and access important services and resources as they transition into independent living.”

The program will be unveiled in full at an event on Thursday, May 31st at the Telus Harbour in Toronto.

The event will begin at 10am and will feature remarks from TELUS President and CEO Darren Entwistle and Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada President and CEO Valerie McMurtry.

Telus recently announced a similar initiative in Quebec that sees the company partnering with four youth centres to provide up to 250 people with a smartphone and two years of free mobile service.
