Change the channel with Alexa on LG’s 2018 ThinQ TVs

LG's TVs now fit easily into two smart home ecosystems

LG is adding support for Alexa to its 2018 ThinQ TV lineup.

All of the company’s 2018 OLED and Super UHD TVs with its ThinQ AI are now compatible with Alexa-enabled devices. This includes Amazon Echo, Echo Show and Echo Plus.

Users can now switch channels, change volume, browse content and more using just their voice.

This new functionality comes as part of LG’s push to bring AI to more smart home appliances and devices.

LG’s 2018 TVs got Google Assistant earlier this month. Additionally, LG added Assistant and Alexa support to its ThinQ branded appliances in April.

The addition of these voice control systems aims to provide the most comfortable smart home experience for customers.

Seeing all this extra integration being added to products is great. The digital assistants add extra convenience to a lot of these products. Additionally, it’s good that LG is supporting products by adding extra features after release.

Furthermore, adding Alexa support to the TVs makes LG appliances great choices for smart home owners regardless of their ecosystem.
