Google has acknowledged the Android messages and search glitch

A fix should roll out in a few days

Google has stated it’s working on a fix for a bizarre Android Google Search glitch.

On May 28th a Reddit user named ‘Krizantro‘ discovered a glitch that made Google Search display users’ recent messages.

The glitch happened when users typed ‘the1975..com’ into the Google Search widget on Android. Once that phrase was searched users would be presented with a list of recently sent and received text messages.

On Friday Google confirmed to the BBC that the bug was part of a language detection glitch. The company refrained from explaining further, but it did clarify that anyone that saw their messages had given Google permission to show their messages there.

Google stated that a fix should roll out in a few days.
