Samsung targeting spring launch for QLED iTunes-ready TVs in Canada

Samsung has confirmed to MobileSyrup that it is looking to release its first-ever iTunes-ready TVs in Canada sometime this spring.

iTunes functionality comes built-in to the South Korean tech giant’s 2019 QLED TV line, which launched earlier this week in the U.S.

Altogether, Samsung is offering a 2019 QLED 4K line that spans four series — Q60, Q70, Q80 and Q90 — ranging from 43 to 82 inches. Further, the company has its 2019 QLED 8K line that comes with displays ranging from 65 to 98 inches. The 4K and 8K models all include a quantum processor that uses AI upscaling to deliver improved brightness, picture quality and optimized sound.

All of these TVs will come packed with the iTunes Movies & Videos app at launch and receive an update for Apple’s AirPlay 2 casting support at some point in the future. Samsung’s 2018 line of TVs will also eventually receive AirPlay 2 support through a firmware update.

Samsung did not confirm specific Canadian pricing and availability but we should learn more in the coming months.
