Roku

Global TV’s streaming app is now available on all Roku devices in Canada.

Roku says that Global is the first Canadian broadcaster to launch an app on its platform.

Roku offers a number of dedicated streaming devices in Canada, including the Roku Streaming Stick+ and Roku Express, as well as supported Roku-compatible televisions from manufacturers like Hisense, RCA, Sharp, Sanyo and TCL.

Along with Roku devices, Global’s streaming app is also available on iOS, Apple TV, Android, Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV.

Regarding content, all Global television shows are available for free on the platform for the first seven days after they air on traditional television. To access the streaming platforms back catalogue of content, you need to sign into the app with your service provider.

Though less than ideal for cord cutters, as long as you’re diligent in how quickly you watch content on the platform, Global’s streaming service gives viewers free access to a number of notable television shows, including Mary Kills People, Saturday Night Live and Seal Team.
