Spotify updates iPad app to support split screen multitasking features

Spotify is finally adding some of the iPads best features to its app

A Reddit user has found that Spotify on iPad now supports ‘Split View’ and ‘Slide Over’ multitasking.

Specifically, app version 8.5.14.816 supports the features, according to The Verge.

Apple added Split View in 2015. The feature allows users to run two apps side-by-side. Slide Over works similarly, but instead of two apps sharing the screen the app that’s in Slide Over sits on top of the app running on the screen and users can push it off the screen by sliding it to the right.

This is a convenient change to bring to Spotify since often users just want to quickly change a song without stopping what they’re doing they can now use Slide Over.

When iPadOS drops in the fall, then users will be able to run two versions of the app side-by-side at once, which should help with making playlists as well.
