The Canadian Football League (CFL) has recently entered a partnership with HeadCheck Health, a Vancouver-based company.
With HeadCheck Health’s digital concussion platform, CFL medical staff will be able to monitor how effective the league concussion protocol is in real-time, according to TSN.
All nine of the CFL teams will reportedly utilize HeadCheck Health’s platform via a phone, tablet or a computer. This will allow CFL medical staff to perform sideline and post-injury concussion assessments.
Additionally, the platform will make it easier to track a player’s concussion records as they move from one team to the other. Furthermore, it’ll make it easier for staff to see if a player’s concussion has improved over time.
“As a home-grown Canadian company that started out of the research lab with University Football players, we couldn’t be happier to be working with the top football brand in our country,” said Harrison Brown, CEO of HeadCheck Health, in an interview with TSN. “We’re excited to build a long-term relationship with the league and showcase at the biggest stage our ability to make a difference in player safety.
