Beats announces new Solo Pro noise-cancelling headphones

The new headphones also feature Apple's updated H1 chip

Beats Solo Pro

Apple has announced new Beats Solo Pro noise-cancelling headphones.

The headphones are essentially Beat’s popular Solo 3s, but with the addition of noise-cancelling, greater frequency response and a more balanced sound. This means that the headphones should, in theory, be less bass-heavy than the current Solo 3s.

The new headphones also feature redesigned ear cushions that are more comfortable, along with a revamped headband. Similar to Beats’ Studio 3 headphones, the company says that an algorithm continuously monitors and adjusts the sound to your listening environment. There’s also a button that instantly turns this feature off.

The other notable addition to the Beats Solo Pros is the same H1 chip Apple included in the 2nd generation AirPods. This means that the headphones feature a simplified pairing process with Apple’s hardware, improved Bluetooth connectivity and “Hey Siri” support.

Other features include 22 hours of battery life with noise-cancelling, or 40 hours when the feature disabled.

Apple’s new Beats Solo Pro cost $379.95 CAD, and are set to release on October 30th in ‘Black,’ ‘Ivory,’ ‘Gray,’ ‘Dark Blue,’ ‘Light Blue’ and ‘Red.’ Pre-orders for the headphones are available in Canada now.

Update 10/16/2019: The story has been updated with Canadian pricing and availability.
