Tim Hortons now offering 6-pack of donuts through Uber Eats for $0.60 plus fees

Uber Eats says that it has plans to bring back classic menu items for other restaurants in the future

Tim Hortons

In the ultimate throwback move, Tim Hortons is now lowering the cost of a six-pack of assorted donuts from $6.59 to $0.60 if you place the order through Uber Eats.

According to Canada’s preeminent source for all things Tim Hortons, InsideTimmies, back in 1964, the first Tim Hortons Donut Shop — owned by Canadian NHL hockey player Tim Horton — charged $0.10 for each donut.

Tim Hortons throwback

This offer is available at participating Tim Hortons locations and only while supplies last. If you don’t see the $0.60 offer at your local Tim Hortons through Uber Eats, then the offer isn’t available at that particular location.

It’s important to note that on top of the $0.60 there is $0.74 tax in Ontario and Uber Eats delivery fees.

For example, my “small order fee” came to $2 plus a service fee of $0.66 on top of the $2.99 delivery fee. This brought the total order amount to $6.99, which is actually $0.40 more than the cost of physically going to a Tim Hortons location and purchasing six donuts. It’s important to note that delivery fees with Uber Eats shift depending on your location. Pick-up is also only available at select Tim Hortons locations.

With all this in mind, there’s no limit to the number of six-donut multi-packs you can purchase. For instance, if you buy 10 six donut multi-packs (60 donuts), you end up only paying $6 for the donuts and don’t pay a small order fee. Your total then comes to roughly $17. For this deal to really be valuable, you need to order at least two six-donut multipacks.

“At Uber Eats, we know 2020 has been a challenging year for many. That’s why we’re taking our customers back to a better time with Uber Eats Throwback Thursdays,” said Lola Kassim, the general manager of Uber Eats Canada, in a recent press release.

“We’re thrilled to kick off with Tim Hortons donuts — and encourage Canadians to head back to the 1960s with us and enjoy a 6 pack of donuts for just $0.60.”

Uber Eats says it has plans to bring back classic menu items and prices for other restaurants in the coming weeks.

Uber Eats is available on iOS and Android.
