Bell’s mobile plans cost more unless you opt for autopay discount

Following in the footsteps of the other carriers in Canada, Bell has added $10 auto-pay discounts to its mobile plans, but those discounts won’t count for much since the base costs of most plans are also going up.

Bring your own phone plans

• 50GB is $75 (or $65 if you sign up for autopay, only for existing Bell subscribers and can go down to $39 if you have another Bell line)
• 75GB is also $75 (or $65 if you sign up for autopay)
• 150GB is $90 (or $80 if you sign up for autopay)
• 175GB Can/US/Mex data is $110 ($100 if you sign up for autopay)

Get a new phone plans

• 50GB is $85 (or $75 if you sign up for autopay, only for existing Bell subscribers and can go down to $49 if you have another Bell line)
• 75GB is also $85 (or $75 if you sign up for autopay)
• 150GB is $100 (or $90 if you sign up for autopay)
• 175GB Can/US/Mex data is $120 ($110 if you sign up for autopay)

It’s also worth noting that Bell’s new phone plans come with voicemail-to-text services, but if you bring your own phone, you don’t get this feature.

Bell isn’t the first carrier to do this kind of autopsy discount. Freedom has been doing it for years, while Koodo and Fido both added autopay discounts more recently.

In other Bell news, the company also hiked its connection fee to $70 today.
