Social network Reddit is launching a new tool to help users search its database of content to find answers to all kinds of questions. The tool doesn’t give outright answers but tries to pull together multiple Reddit posts or comments in a list of bullet points to guide people to the right answer for their specific question.
It will be interesting to see how this catches on since people are very used to amending the end of their Google search with the keyword “Reddit” to get answers from real people as opposed to what you might get from a regular Google search. This new tool will allow people to subvert Google altogether, which should make searching much easier.

The tool allows users to type in plain and conversational questions. Reddit will then provide a brief intro and links to common threads and posts on the site. The key is that these links make it easier for the user to follow up on an answer and get more context.
