If you need to upgrade your mobile Apple ecosystem, the best option might be to buy an iPhone 16 on a two-year contract at Freedom Mobile since it gets you a new Apple Watch for free.
While you can get the deal with any iPhone 16 model, you need to purchase it on a two-year contract with plans as low as $59 per month and a $10 per month Apple Watch plan. This means that you can’t get Freedom’s best plan deals, and you need to connect the watch to the carrier’s network if you want the free watch.
It should be noted that the free watch is a 42mm Apple Watch Series 10 with cellular connectivity, and you need to shop in stores to get the deal, so you’ll be paying two $45 connection fees as you set up both your new phone and watch.
This isn’t the first time Freedom has offered a deal like this. When the iPhone 16 launched, you could get this free watch with a $65 plan. Then, for Boxing Day, the carrier brought it back with cheaper plans of $55 per month. This new deal sits between the two at $59.
Freedom also recently reworked its plans, increasing prices but also adding more data in some cases. Customers can also now get 5G+ data at Freedom Mobile.
While I’ve had good experiences on Freedom Mobile over the past year, I’m not sure I recommend an Apple Watch cellular plan. In my time with one, I didn’t use the onboard data much, and I didn’t find myself separated from my phone enough to warrant the monthly cost.
