Acer laptop price increase not affecting Canada

So far, it seems like Trump is only messing with his own country

Acer is raising its laptop prices in the U.S. to combat the latest round of Trump tariffs, but luckily, Canada will escape the price increase.

It was reported on February 18th that Acer’s laptops were going to increase by 10 percent, which the company thinks should cover the default U.S. import tax and will likely be the price increase percentage you’ll see a lot of companies apply in retaliation to the tariffs.

MobileSyrup contacted Acer Canada, and the company’s Canadian arm confirmed that prices in Canada will remain unchanged.

“We have implemented supply chain modifications which currently avoid tariff impacts in Canada,” an Acer spokesperson told MobileSyrup.

During the last Trump presidency, Acer moved its desktop manufacturing outside of China, and the company may do the same with its laptops, reports The Telegraph.
