If you want to find an even lower price, Walmart has the M1 Air with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $1,049, but this model is roughly five years old since it came out in 2020. It is still a very fast computer, but for anyone looking to use a laptop professionally, you would likely want the M3 with the extra RAM.
Apple is also selling refurbished models of the M3 and M2 MacBook Airs, and the deals are even better if you don’t mind buying a used machine. That said, when it’s a refurb from Apple, you can count on the machine being very clean and working well.
The cheapest refurb is the M3 Air at $1,009, and it comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This model is also the same base model with an 8-core CPU/GPU setup that’s on sale new at Amazon. The most expensive model is $1,839, and it’s a 15-inch Air with 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
