Nintendo closed out its latest Direct presentation with a classic keynote ‘One More Thing,’ but it wasn’t actually for a game.
Instead, legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto came out to unveil Nintendo Today!, a new mobile app that provides personalized daily updates and other features. The app has launched on Android and iOS and is available to anyone with a free Nintendo account.
Introducing Nintendo Today!, a new smart device app that’ll deliver daily Nintendo information and content directly to you. Available later today from the App Store and Google Play Store. #NintendoDirect

With the app, you’ll be able to get news on Nintendo products, including the upcoming Switch 2 system and software, as well as info and even videos and comic strips about fan-favourite characters. On top of that, the app will feature an animated calendar, event schedule (featuring dates for Direct presentations, game releases, in-game events and more).

And finally, you’ll be able to customize your home screen with a widget featuring the Nintendo calendar and art from select Nintendo game series.

This is Nintendo’s second mobile app on the market, joining the Nintendo Switch Online app that’s used for voice chat, friends lists, game-specific features and more.
