Some Freedom customers are getting 40GB of bonus data

Watch out for texts from Freedom with the offer

Freedom Mobile is giving some customers up to 40GB of bonus data.

According to a post on Reddit, Freedom is texting customers with a free data gift. The message notes that the bonus data will stick around as long as recipients keep their current plan.

“We’re adding 40GB of bonus data to your monthly plan, available for use in Canada, U.S. and Mexico, at no extra cost,” reads the text from Freedom.

Freedom customers who get the text don’t have to do anything to activate the data. Instead, Freedom says it adds the bonus data automatically.

Unfortunately, as with all text deals like this, your mileage may vary. It doesn’t seem to be based on specific plans. Several Redditor users said they had a $35/75GB Boxing Day plan and got the 40GB bonus. Another user on a 100GB plan also got the 40GB bonus.
