The Switch 2 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are getting enhanced on Switch 2, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a feature that will allow you to repair weapons.
Players can redeem a daily bonus using the Zelda Notes app that will launch alongside the Switch 2 versions of the aforementioned titles. This will randomly select one of 12 buffs for your character, and it seems like there are options to repair bows and equipment, which should apply to other weapons and shields.
On the one hand, it’s kind of cool that Nintendo included these bonuses at all, but it is a bit annoying to have them locked behind a randomly selected list of things. This also includes things like free meals, extra energy cells, health and more.
Some of the other bonuses you can get are similar to what you’d find by tapping an Amiibo into the game, but sadly, there is no figurine to get weapon repairs, at least not yet.
That being said, it does appear that the open-world Zelda titles are getting the most robust updates for Switch 2 compared to others like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby and the Forgotten Lands are getting more DLC-like upgrades, but it remains to be seen how much stuff they really add.
So far, pricing for these upgrades remains unknown in Canadian dollars, but it seems that the Zelda upgrades will be around US$10. The Zelda content is also free for people with a Nintendo Online subscription.
