Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are reportedly set to start on April 23.
On social media, gaming insider billbil-kun (via Lbabinz), posted that they’ve heard the date, which is subject to change, from Canadian retailers. billbil-kun has previously correctly leaked the existence of other gaming news, like the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remaster.
Should the April 23 date be accurate, it would be a notable update considering Nintendo recently made the surprise move to delay Switch 2 pre-orders in Canada past April 9 to align with a similar pushback in the U.S. amid President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

MobileSyrup has reached out to Nintendo of Canada for comment and will update this story should a response be received.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch worldwide, including in Canada, on June 5 for $629. While we know much about the console and its games lineup, official Canadian pricing for games and accessories has yet to be confirmed. (We’ve reached out to Nintendo of Canada multiple times to get this information.) Hopefully, the eventual start of pre-orders — be it on April 23 or a different, hopefully sooner, date — will finally reveal pricing details.
For more on the console, check out our hands-on impressions of both the console and its games, as well as our interviews with the main hardware architects and Nintendo of America’s Nate Bihldorff.
