Xbox app launches on LG smart TVs

Right on time for Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Microsoft has launched its Xbox app on select LG smart TV models.

With this functionality, some LG display owners can stream a variety of games through Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is included with a $22.99/month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The Xbox app is available on LG TVs and select smart monitors running the latest webOS 24 and newer versions, and this includes 2022 LG OLEDs and above. LG is the second TV manufacturer to support Xbox Cloud Gaming, following Samsung.

Altogether, hundreds of games can now be streamed to LG TVs, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Avowed, Canadian-made South of Midnight and the just-launched The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, an RPG launching this week that’s one of the year’s highest new releases, is also coming to Game Pass day one.

On top of that, a recent Xbox update added the ability for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream select games they own, including Ubisoft Quebec’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows, NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy.

Outside of a compatible LG smart TV and a Game Pass Ultimate membership, you’ll need a Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller. This includes Xbox’s various gamepads, including the default Xbox Wireless Controller, as well as Sony’s DualSense controller for the PS5.
