Air Canada is now offering free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members on select flights within North America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
The internet connectivity is sponsored by Bell, which has been partnering with Air Canada since 2023 to provide Aeroplan members with free in-flight texting. With this expansion, the airline promises “streaming-quality Wi-Fi” on Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express flights operated with CRJ900 aircraft.
Aeroplan Members can now enjoy the convenience of complimentary, streaming-quality Wi-Fi from gate-to-gate on Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and on Air Canada Express flights operated with CRJ900 aircraft. (For reference, these are smaller planes.) Air Canada says you’ll be able to find out whether your plane has free Wi-Fi within five days of departure by entering your flight number or route on its website.
Once you’re actually onboard, simply connect to the in-flight Wi-Fi network, visit www.acwifi.com, enter your last name and assigned seat number and accept the terms and conditions. If you’re not an Aeroplan member, the program is free — otherwise, you can still buy Wi-Fi access using your credit card.
Bell says it plans to expand free Wi-Fi to all customers on international routes next year. Before the end of 2025, Wi-Fi will also be installed on its Q400 fleet operating at Toronto Billy Bishop, which Air Canada says makes it the first carrier to do this for the airport.
