An ex-Freedom Mobile customer received an email from the carrier for a $29 plan that includes 60GB of data that can be used in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. For people who also subscribe to Freedom’s Internet service, the price for the mobile plan drops to $25 per month.
This plan is only available to customers who used to be with Freedom but left, and it also appears to be for customers who already own their phone. The screenshot shared on RedFlagDeals also mentions that there’s no connection fee and you get a one-time allotment of 5GB to use when you travel abroad.
The fine print also clarifies that this price will be frozen for the duration of your time with Freedom, so you shouldn’t have to worry about yearly price increases. It’s not mentioned, but I would suspect the price is reliant on users signing up for Freedom’s auto-pay system, which usually drops $4 off the price of the company’s plans.
It appears that the email includes promo codes so people can redeem the plan, and one user in the RedFlagDeals forum shared an extra one.
Without the promo code, this plan is on sale for $35, but usually we see it closer to $39 or more. If you want to know what it’s like to use one of Freedom’s modern plans you can read about it in our prior coverage.
