At last, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning is nearly upon us.
The supposed final entry in Paramount’s massively popular action-spy series is releasing on May 23 — two years (and one Hollywood strike) after Dead Reckoning. The new film sees Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) continuing his daring mission to stop Gabriel (Esai Morales) and the rogue AI known as the Entity. Other returning cast members include Ving Rhames (Luther), Simon Pegg (Benji), Toronto’s own Henry Czerny (Kittridge), Hayley Atwell (Grace) and Pom Klementieff (Paris).
The concluding chapter of any cinematic saga would warrant rewatching the older installments, but Mission: Impossible feels like a particular event given the level of craft behind the film’s practical stunts and Cruise’s impressive long-running commitment to them. It’s the end of an era, you might say.
Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to watch all seven Mission: Impossible movies leading up to The Final Reckoning:
- Mission: Impossible (1996) — Paramount+, Pluto TV
- Mission: Impossible 2 (2000) — Paramount+, Pluto TV
- Mission: Impossible III (2006) — Paramount+, Pluto TV
- Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) — Paramount+, Pluto TV
- Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) — Paramount+
- Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) — Paramount+
- Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning (2023) — Netflix
A Paramount+ subscription starts at $6.99/month, while Netflix memberships begin at $7.99/month. Pluto TV is free with ads.
Update: 20/05/2025 at 10:10 a.m. ET — Several Mission: Impossible films have been added to Paramount-owned Pluto TV ahead of The Final Reckoning. We’ve updated this list accordingly.
