At Google I/O 2025, the company announced that Live Translate is coming to Google Meet.
Available to subscribers, Google Meet will translate English to Spanish live for its users. One person will speak English; the AI will translate live into Spanish and vice versa. The demo we watched looked like the AI also tried to match the user’s voice, which is a nice touch.
Google also announced Beam at I/O, using technology from Project Starline. Beam will allow you to have 3D conversations in Google Meet and will have Google Live Translate functionality.
Google Live Translate is currently only available in English to Spanish, but will soon be available in more languages. It will also be available to Enterprise customers later this year.
