Google announced Personalized Smart Replies at Google I/O 2025.
Personalized Smart Replies can help you draft emails to match your tone. It does this by pulling in details from past emails and Google Drive and providing response suggestions with specific details that make them more relevant.
If you’re typically formal and warm, it’ll reply like that, but if you’re more informal and enjoy emojis like me, it will generate replies like that.
This will be available later this year, but its unclear if it will come to Canada at the same time as the U.S.
Google is also using Gemini to help clean up your inbox. You can tell Gemini to delete all your unread emails from a certain address to help you manage and declutter your inbox. This will be available next quarter.
And Google is integrating fast appointment scheduling into Gmail, letting you offer times for customers or clients to book appointments without leaving your inbox. Gemini will detect that you’re trying to set up a meeting, coordinate with your schedule, and nudge you with times you’re available. This will also be available next quarter.
