Motorola has delayed its Razr (2025) phone by a few days, but only at some places.
While the handset was originally supposed to launch on May 15, 9to5Google noted that U.S. carrier Verizon took down the listing on its website. Verizon later updated its website to list May 22 as the release date, while Motorola confirmed to 9to5Google that the delay at Verizon “was adjusted to ensure the best possible launch experience for their customers.”
The manufacturer added that the phone will be available at Verizon, as well as fellow U.S. wireless companies Straight Talk, Total Wireless and Visible, on May 22.
Interestingly, the Razr isn’t listed on Motorola’s Canadian website at the time of writing, suggesting a similar delay here. However, it is available on Rogers’ website as was previously announced. It’s unclear if the Razr Ultra will face any similar delays past its planned June 3 launch. (The Razr+ isn’t coming to Canada.)

The new base Razr model sports a 6.9-inch FHD+ 165Hz display and 3.6-inch pOLED cover screen, while the Ultra features a 7-inch FHD+ 165Hz display and 4-inch pOLED display cover screen. The entry Razr runs MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Ultra boasts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB of RAM and 512GB and 1TB storage options.
Both phones will also offer new Moto AI features, such as the Ultra’s exclusive “Look and Talk” functionality that lets you activate it through the exterior display. More information on the Ultra can be found in our hands-on.
