At WWDC 25, Apple announced tvOS 26.
Playback controls take a Liquid Glass cue and are now translucent. Apple says this gives the platform a more vibrant look, as the UI reflects and refracts its surroundings using real-time rendering. The design keeps content central to the viewing experience while fast-forwarding, rewinding, or starting a sleep timer.
Furthermore, tvOS can show profiles whenever your Apple TV wakes up, so you can get more curated content when you turn on your Apple TV. This lets users quickly return to their recommendations and watchlist in the TV app and Apple Music.
Now, thumbnails for series and movies incorporate Liquid Glass, allowing more series and films to be displayed.
With Sing, your iPhone can become the mic to amplify your voice. Anyone with an iPhone can join in, add music to the queue and even add reactions.
Additional updates, including new aerial screen savers captured across India, including Goa and Kerala. New personalized screen savers allowing you to choose specific Cityscape, Earth, Landscape or Underwater Aerials to display or hide. You can also designate any AirPlay-enabled speaker as the permanent speaker for Apple TV.
Apple also previewed some of the upcoming content on Apple TV+.
