Amazon has released an AI video creator that makes it easy for U.S. sellers to advertise products.
Amazon Ads’ Video Generator, a free tool which was introduced last year in beta, is now generally available for sellers within the U.S. to create “photorealistic video assets.”
The video creator uses AI video generation to create short videos for sellers to use when marketing their products on the site. According to Amazon Ads, the generator will be able to create six short video advertisements “within minutes,” with the generator’s website claiming five minutes or less. According to Android Police, the videos are going to be capped at 21 seconds.
The video generator sports new motion capabilities, which allow for the showcase of products like toys, tools, or worn items. Amazon’s example for the product was a watch, and it generated clips of someone wearing the watch on their wrist, checking the time, and actually adjusting it instead of just displaying it on a table with zero motion.
The new video generation tool creates six ads for the seller to choose from. The brand can add its logo to the finished product. The tool can also add multiple connected scenes with people, pets, text overlays, and music to make it feel more like a traditional commercial.
This is one of many uses of AI that Amazon is implementing in its American marketplace. Not long ago, Amazon announced the addition of AI voiceovers, which generated a quick two-host podcast-style clip reviewing the product. The company added a similar voiceover tool to Kindle to summarize books.
Although this isn’t in Canada yet, users could still change their country to the United States if they want to see the video generator in action. Sellers are expected to use the generator pretty quickly, as it is easy and free.
