If your Nintendo Switch 2 is having some battery life issues, it could be the result of a bug.
In a support document, Nintendo notes that there might be instances when “the battery amount displayed and the actual remaining battery use don’t match.” To resolve this, Nintendo says you’ll need an “adequately powerful AC adapter” and confirm that your console has the latest system update installed. From there, turn off the system and then press and hold down the volume up and down buttons until the menu for Recovery Mode appears.
The company says booting the system into Recovery Mode “should reset the battery level meter.” However, it says any persisting issues might require you to send your console in for repair.
It should be noted that Nintendo’s official estimates for Switch 2 battery life are approximately three hours to fully charge when the system is powered off or in Sleep Mode. It will then last for roughly 2.5 to 6.5 hours when fully charged, depending on the game.
Outside of this issue, the launch of the Switch 2 has gone quite well so far. In just four days, the Switch 2 reportedly became the fastest-selling console of all time. On top of that, stock seems to be readily available across retailers in spite of that demand.
