Throughout WWDC Apple has been tight-lipped about the AI-powered Siri update that was shown off at WWDC last year. However, we’ve learned two key things about it.
First off, in an interview with Joanna Stern from the Wall Street Journal, Craig Federighi clarified that the personalized Siri demo shown off during last year’s WWDC conference and in an advertisement featuring Bella Ramsey was real. Apple had a working demo of the feature, but in the end, it just hasn’t lived up to Apple’s quality bar yet.
In a separate report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg the reporter states that Apple is aiming to ship the new Siri in the spring of 2026. However, he mentions that reportedly things in the Siri department at Apple are a little chaotic and it might miss that soft deadline.
The release in the spring might feel a little out of place, but there is some speculation that Apple will release a follow-up to the iPhone 16e next spring which would line up with this Siri release.
