The Google Pixel 6a has caught fire again. Recently, a Reddit user reported an issue they experienced with their Pixel 6a catching fire. Google recently released an update to help with the overheating, but even that did not help.
The Redditor said they were using the Steam Deck’s 45W charger instead of the proprietary cable with the device. The user also showed pictures of the handset after it caught on fire, with the screen melted a bit, the case charred, and the internals singed.
I’m the 3rd one posting this for this month. Pixel 6a caught on fire right next to me on the nightstand.

The user said they downloaded the ‘Battery Performance Program’ update, which was supposed to reduce the risk of overheating. This is the first instance of a phone catching fire after the Battery Performance Program update. Google might need to put out another update.
This comes after Australia warned about the Pixel 6a’s potential overheating.
