Owners of original Sonos Roam speakers have reported overheating in the device.
According to a Bloomberg report, owners of the original Sonos Roam have been experiencing overheating around the device’s USB-C port. Sonos has acknowledged the issue but has not taken any action to recall the devices.
In a statement shared with Engadget, the company says it has been closely monitoring the issue. Though the company has acknowledged this, the incident rate has remained very low. Additionally, Sonos mentioned environmental conditions as a contributing factor to the issue.
Despite these points, Sonos has taken steps to further reduce the likelihood of overheating through “software updates and accessory improvements.”
At the time of writing, this overheating issue seems to be restricted to the original Sonos Roam model that debuted in 2021.
