Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bananza was the best-selling game in Canada in July, according to new data from the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) and Circana.
Here’s the full list of top 10 best-sellers:
- Donkey Kong Bananza (Nintendo)
- EA Sports College Football 26 (EA Orlando/EA)
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 (Iron Galaxy/Activision)
- EA Sports MVP Bundle (EA Orlando/EA)
- Forza Horizon 5 (Playground Games/Xbox)
- Grounded 2 (Obsidian Entertainment/Eidos Montreal/Xbox)
- Red Dead Redemption II (Rockstar Games/Take-Two Interactive)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (Treyarch/Raven Software/Activision)
- Minecraft (Mojang/Xbox)
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (Kojima Productions/PlayStation)
It should be noted that a couple of these games were partially made by Canadians. First, Grounded 2 was co-developed by California’s Obsidian and Quebec’s Eidos Montreal, while Xbox sister studio Beenox helped with development on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Normally, we’d compare this list to Circana’s list of U.S. best-sellers for some fun context, but that’s not actually available at the moment. We’ll update this once we see it.
In the meantime, here’s a reminder that ESAC and MobileSyrup‘s Great Canadian Game-Off is still underway until Labour Day. Vote for your overall favourite Canadian game and enter to win gaming gift cards.
