In December, Netflix introduced Moments, a feature that lets you save and share your favourite scenes from movies and shows.
Now, the streamer is expanding the feature so you can create your own clips. Previously, you could only set a starting point when saving a scene, but now, you can also select an endpoint.
To use the feature, tap the new “Clip” button during mobile playback. From there, you’ll be able to adjust the length of the clip accordingly. Once you’re done, the edited video will be saved in the My Netflix tab where you can either view or share it.
The new Moments functionality coincides with the release of Part 2 of Wednesday’s second season. Notably, Lady Gaga will be making her highly-anticipated appearance as Nevermore teacher Rosaline Rotwood in this batch of episodes, which will no doubt be one popular Clips opportunity.
Clips is also part a larger suite of mobile-only Netflix features this year. Others include a mobile-optimized vertical feed that rolled out earlier in the year and, within the next few months, AI-powered search functionality.
